Fleurs

Here is a new Scribbles tee shirt that I made for a friend in California. She is a new member of the Garden Club and wanted something to wear when people are coming to visiting her gardens.

FACE #2

Here is another female face. Actually I started this one first, but I like to work on two things at the same time so I finished this one last.

It is done on Poster Board and is the same size as the other face. It will be for sale also, but not until I get it framed.

In the mean time I have two more commisioned Dragonfly pieces to do on fabric and a tee shirt for a friend. I also will go back to doing some shoes. So, I have plenty to keep me busy.

SCRIBBLES FACE #1

I will get back to doing shoes, but I got this idea and wanted to try doing some female faces. So much fun. I used a stippling technique on the face and then sectioned the rest of the head and used the Scribbles technique. It was done on poster board but I will try another and hope to incorporate some color into the background. I will offer this piece for sale, but I am going to frame it and so have not set a price for it yet.

STRING

Here is an example of a string. Drawn on a 3 x 3 1/2 inch piece of card stock. Now that I'm looking at it again it looks a little like a sting ray.

Scribble Classes

I promised in an earlier post to announce when I would be teaching the Scribbles technique.
So for those of you who are in the Lexington, Ky. area here the dates.

I will be teaching at Quilters Square.
There will be three consecutive classes.
The first is on Friday, March 11th, 1:00 to 3:30 pm. In this class you will learn what is called strings. Totally freehand, and you will be amazed at what you turn out. Little drawings that are completely your own. The price is $30.00.

The second class will deal with repetative patterns that are a bit more advanced. This class will be held on Friday, March 18th, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The fee is $25.00

Then the third class will be held on Friday, March 25, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. In this class you will take from your drawings and interpet your repetative patterns into quilting patterns. We will be working on fabric at this point. The fee is $25.00

So, if you are interested just call Quilters Square at 859-278-5010 or you can e-mail me at shedrum@windstream.net or call me at 859-272-6967.

This is going to be a really fun class and you will be amazed at what you can turn out!

I'm also going to be teaching the Stained Glass Applique technique at Quilter's Square on Wednesday the 23rd of March.

AnNOTHER YOGA TEE SHIRT

I just wanted to share another Yoga tee shirt that I SCRIBBLED. So much fun.

I'm always reminding my students to breathe during classes. Every position has a breath, but sometimes people get to concentrating on doing the exercises and they breathe thru their mouths or hold their breath. In Yoga 50% of the benefits come from proper breathing. It is like the Yin and Yang. When you take the air into your lungs, that brings energy, and when you exhale that will bring you calmness.

What is a Scribbles

It's an easy way to learn a method of drawing, using repetitive patterns.
If you always wanted to be able to draw, but got frustrated this technique is for you.
The process will give you artistic satisfaction and a sense of personal well being.
Used as a stress reducer it will increase your ability to concentrate and increase your attention span.

Keep checking because I will soon be announcing a class in the Lexington Ky area where you can learn this technique.

New Scribble

Garden Wonder
Inspiration for Scribbles come from everywhere. Really look around when you are in Church. Look when you are waiting at the Dentists office. Keep your pen and paper with you at all times. You never know when you will be inspired.

I love to do flowers in the winter time. Makes me feel as if Spring is not so far away.

FIRST POSTING

I have been drawing what I call Scribbles for most of my life. Never thought much about them, as I was just having fun.

Now it seems these small drawings have become very popular and you can find many samples on different websites and Yutube.

I just felt the need to share, and so today I am posting my first Scribble for you to enjoy. Since I am a Quilter, this was done on fabric. It works just as well as on paper. Eventually, I want to do a Scribble Quilt. Right now I am just working on technique, but will share just as soon as I get something done that I feel proud of.
